Where to find us

We're located in a converted heritage building that used to house a printing press. The irony is not lost on us.

The store is wheelchair accessible via the side entrance on Cooper Street. Ring the bell and someone will assist with the door.

What to expect when you visit

The store layout is organized by category rather than alphabetically, with fiction separated into literary, genre, and translated sections. Non-fiction is grouped by broad subject area. If you can't find something, ask—our staff knows the inventory better than any signage system could communicate.

We maintain a quiet atmosphere. This isn't a rule so much as an emergent property of the space. People naturally lower their voices when surrounded by this many books.

You're welcome to sit and read. We have chairs scattered throughout specifically for this purpose. Spending an hour reading a book you don't end up buying is not a problem—it's expected behavior in a bookstore that takes itself seriously.

Bringing children

Children are welcome if they understand how to navigate a retail space with fragile inventory. We don't have a dedicated children's section, though we do stock quality children's literature in the back room. Parents remain responsible for supervising their children throughout the visit.

Store policies

No food or uncovered drinks near the books. Coffee in sealed containers is fine. We're not trying to be difficult—book damage from spills is permanent and expensive.

Photography is allowed for personal use but not for commercial purposes or social media influencer content that uses the store as a backdrop for unrelated products.

We accept cash, credit cards, and debit. Personal checks are not accepted.
